Common questions about Aether
Clear answers about setup, pricing, routing, call handling, notifications, privacy, and what Aether does or does not replace.
No. The voice agent is one part of the system. Aether also includes setup, dashboard access, lead capture, booking request workflow, call summaries, notification rules, routing rules, spam filtering, QA testing, support, and launch tuning.
Not necessarily. Aether is best used for missed calls, overflow, after-hours coverage, routine enquiries, lead capture, and booking requests. Complex or sensitive calls can be escalated or handled by your team depending on your routing rules.
Aether can collect booking requests, preferred times, caller details, and reasons for the appointment. Unless calendar locking is explicitly configured and tested, bookings are treated as requests for the team to confirm.
Aether uses request-first booking by default. That means it collects the preferred time and creates a booking request, but your team confirms the exact slot unless full calendar locking has been configured and tested.
Yes. Aether can be configured to treat human requests, complaints, urgent issues, HMRC/legal topics, or sensitive calls as escalation events. Live transfer depends on the phone routing layer, but message-taking and urgent alerts can be configured earlier.
Live transfer is a phone routing feature that can be added during implementation where required. The core setup focuses first on call handling, lead capture, booking requests, summaries, email alerts, dashboard visibility, and routing rules.
Aether can be configured for a dedicated number, overflow, or after-hours routing. Connection to an existing number depends on the business’s current phone provider and the agreed telecoms setup, which is confirmed during implementation and go-live.
Modern voice AI can handle many UK accents, but no system is perfect. That is one reason Aether includes QA testing and launch tuning. If the AI struggles with certain caller behaviour, wording and clarification prompts can be adjusted.
Call listening or recordings depend on the voice provider and configuration used. Aether focuses on clean call summaries and dashboard records. If recordings are enabled, clients should make sure their caller notices and privacy obligations are appropriate.
No. Aether is designed to avoid inbox noise. Booking requests and urgent/escalated calls can trigger professional email alerts, while lower-priority calls and spam can stay logged in the dashboard.
Spam, scam, cold sales, marketing, SEO, and other low-value calls can be logged without creating leads, appointments, or email alerts. The handling rules can be configured per client.
That is why setup includes QA testing and a launch tuning window. Aether uses request-first booking, routing rules, spam filtering, escalation rules, and ongoing optimisation so the receptionist can be improved based on real call behaviour.
The current Aether setup focuses on the Aether dashboard, email alerts, leads, call logs, and booking requests. CRM integrations can be scoped later as custom or higher-tier work once the core call flow is stable.
SMS booking links and confirmations can be added as an implementation add-on once the phone and messaging layer is configured. The core service focuses first on call handling, lead capture, booking requests, dashboard logging, routing rules, and professional email alerts.
The setup fee covers implementation work: business discovery, call-flow mapping, receptionist scripting, services and FAQs, routing rules, booking rules, dashboard setup, notifications, QA test calls, go-live support, and launch tuning.
After setup is secured, Aether collects business context, configures the receptionist and dashboard, sets up lead capture and notification rules, runs QA test calls, prepares launch, and provides a 14-day launch tuning window from the agreed go-live point.
For the Business plan, monthly billing starts after the 14-day launch tuning period unless a different go-live date is agreed in writing.
The Business monthly service has a minimum 3-month commitment from go-live unless a different term is agreed in writing. After that, it continues on a rolling monthly basis unless cancelled before the next billing period.
After the initial 3-month monthly commitment, cancellation stops future monthly billing from the next billing period unless agreed otherwise. Setup fees are not refunded once implementation work has started.
Aether will notify the client before applying overage billing. The client can upgrade plan, agree an overage rate, or adjust routing scope. Indicative overage is Professional £0.60/min, Business £0.50/min, and Premium quoted or from £0.40/min.
Aether is designed with UK data protection responsibilities in mind. The client is normally the controller for caller data, and Aether acts as processor for the front desk service. Clients remain responsible for their own caller notices, lawful basis, and call-recording practices.

No. Aether is most useful for businesses where missed calls, booking requests, consultations, or project enquiries are valuable. Very low-volume or very low-value businesses may be better served by simpler tools.
